2) Students will be working in small groups today to complete an Urban Sketchbook that would include drawings and political cartoons over the following topics:
a. Problems in an American City, 1900
b. Problems in the Industrial Age from a Populist Perspective
c. Problem facing our nation today, 2012
Beside working in collaborative groups, students will recall information from their reading and gain new perspectives on a group of early reformers, the Populists.
Students will consult pages 12 - 17 in their packets.

The First Industrial Revolution Advertisement 8.28.12
Today is a work day in class. I suggest that you complete the following in this order:
1) Complete pages 9 - 14 in your packet.
2) See page 19 - The First Industrial Revolution Advertisement (20 pts.) - You are allowed to pick your own topic. Using Microsoft Publisher design an advertisement touting on of the new innovations of the Industrial Revolution - the focus in from 1790s - 1850s. You must include at least one picture, key characteristics of the innovation, how it will impact others and why it should be used. You must be persuasive! This is due on Friday!
For Homework - complete page 15 - Here is a helpful link to complete this. Laws of the American Revolution You are answering the question - Was the American Revolution caused by economic causes? Rate your answer on bottom of page from a 1 to a 10. Support your answer by including 6 key terms and their definitions on the scales. If you believe the Revolution was strongly caused by economic causes then choose 3 strong key terms for the economy and weaker ones that are not economic. Be sure to choose and define 6 key terms. --- this is due on Friday.
